    You’re the Berry Best

Hey everyone, happy Friday. The new Inspired By Challenge is up and this week’s inspiration just gives me all the feels. Who else just loves vintage and the stories that are behind the items?

I was inspired by the theme, the colors, the gingham and sketch (I guess pretty much everything) for my card. I pulled out the Strawberry Fields collection from Echo Park.

To tell the truth, I attempted some die cut strawberries using my Silhouette but lately I fight more with it than use it and for this card I fought more with it and thus decided to do my tried and true… fussy cutting LOL.

I actually was able to use some of my scraps on this card which always makes me happy. I added stitching and scallops to carry out the homespun feel. I left the bottom with no sentiment as I thought it could be added later – either teacher, mom, friend… when I decide to use the card.

I fussy cut the strawberries from pattern paper and then mounted on foam squares.

That’s all for me today. Hope you have a great weekend and can’t wait to see how you are inspired.

  • A Little Bunch of Happy

    A Little Bunch of Happy

Although I am eagerly awaiting fall’s cooler weather, our new heat pump has me not ‘hating’ the heat quite as much. And thus I was in a sunny, flowery mood when I created this card using the new Sniffs & Stems stamp set from Unity (which is ON SALE as a Spotlight steal so be sure to grab it!)

It was a good card to use up some of my scraps that were sitting around on my desk from my Echo Park projects. After adhering the papers I of course added some stitching. I then colored this cutie, fussy cut out and mounted on foam squares.

Now I hope to spend some time in my craft room doing a cleaning – I figure if I do it every so often it won’t become such a big job like it usually is LOL. How often do you clean yours? or is your always neat and tidy?

Be sure to grab this stamp set while it is on sale!

  • Cat Lover

    Cat Lover

I was up on the @echoparkpaper page the other day with my cat lover cards. Such a fun collection to play with and if you’re a cat lover you definitely need this!

There are free instructions for these cards up on the Echo Park website.

  • Groovy…

    Groovy…

Hey everyone, the new Inspired by Challenge is up. I was inspired by the boho vibe and decided to create 2 cards. with the Our Groovy Summer collection from Echo Park

For my first card, along with the boho vibe I picked out the happy face and incorporated that using an old Technique Tuesday die (remember them?!). To be honest I am not sure I have ever used the die LOL. I also added some of the Washi tape from the collection that had some smiles.

Next up I decided to use the scraps to incorporate the happy face and the sketch (loosely) to create a second card.

Can’t wait to see how you were inspired.

  • You’re the Zest

    You’re the Zest

Everyday I check on my lemon tree to see if I am going to get any this year. Lots of flowers but no lemons yet.

So seemed fitting to play with the You’re the Zest stamp set and pair it with the Lemonade collection

Not much to say as I kept it pretty simple. I used scraps for the background and mounted the lemons on foam squares

  • Mom’s Kitchen

    Mom’s Kitchen

I am up on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog today. I am sharing a coffee card, but it should be an iced coffee as it is so hot here this week – which does give me a good excuse to hide out in my craft room where it is cooler LOL

For my card this week I have once again used the Spill the Coffee, Darlin’ stamp set from Unity – which, if you don’t have it yet, be sure to grab it while it is on sale! I created a project for my daughter using the Mom’s Kitchen collection by Echo Park for my daughter and while the paper was out I thought it worked well with this image.

After layering the papers and stickers I finished it off with some stitching. I then coloured her and mounted with foam squares for dimension.

That’s it for today, I am off to find some coolness… now be sure to grab the stamp set while it is on sale!

  • Recipe Binder

    Recipe Binder

About 18 years ago or so (pre Pinterest) my husband started cooking, thus printing off recipes. I made him this simple binder as a stocking stuffer to hold them.

He still digs it out once in awhile too.

Little did I know, little eyes were watching and remembering…

A few months ago my daughter Danica (now 28, married and living in Germany), said she prints off recipes (I thought I was the only one still doing this 😆) and would love to keep them in a binder and that it would be more special if it was one I made.

The Mom’s Kitchen collection was perfect for the challenge (I mean project 😏)

Because the front has to go inside the plastic on the front, I could have too much dimension. Thus stickers were key here.

I added tabs to the inside pages, but left them blank so she could add her own since she is going vegan. Of course stickers added.

Echo Park has these cute recipe cards so I tucked some in just in case she wants to write out some. Ideally I would write out some of her favourites but her favourites from childhood include meat (meatloaf being one of them 😆)

My oldest daughter is heading to Germany, taking my granddaughter there, so she can tuck this in her suitcase.

Hope this is what my daughter envisioned.

Do you still print out recipes?

  • Purr-mission

    Purr-mission

I played with the Pam-purr Yourself stamp once again. It’s basically the same sketch/layout as the other day but different papers.

Once again paired with Echo Park Paper – this time the French Girl collection.

Of course, the speech bubble is from the Thinking Out Loud stamp set… it’s such a fun addition to cards!

Now, be sure to grab the stamps while they’re on sale!

  • Pam-purred

    Pam-purred

I had fun making this card. Everything just kind of worked and fell into place easily.

I had created some DT cards for Echo Park Paper using the Cat Lover collection and since the paper was out, I thought it worked well for this new Unity Pam-purr Yourself Stamp

I used some of the scraps leftover from my other cards and just layered them onto the card front. I colored the image with copics, fussy cut it out and mounted on foam squares.

I stamped one of the sentiments in the Thinkin Out Loud stamp set and mounted on foam squares as well.

I then finished off with some stickers.

BOTH of these stamps are on sale right now! Go grab them!

  • Thanks for being so sweet

    Thanks for being so sweet

Hey everyone, the new Inspired By challenge is up and it is a sweet one 😉.

I was inspired by the theme, colors and sketch this week. I was excited to use my Pink & Main Box of Donuts dies along with an old MFT frame die. The sentiment is from The Stamps of Life and the enamel dots are from Echo Park.

I mounted the donuts on foam squares and finished them off with some fun sprinkles. Now which donut would you choose?

Come play along with us over at Inspired by! I am also entering this into the Simon Says challenge
